One of the greatest drags on the value of real estate in Florida is the impact of ever-rising property taxes. Those taxes, when combined with enormous prices for property insurance, when it's available at all, are killing off the attractiveness of Florida as a place to buy a second home.

The problem with real estate sales in Tampa Bay, Florida are being caused by the the foolishness going on in Tallahassee where the legistlature fails to understand that most buyers of Florida real estate these days are non-homesteaders (snowbirds) so their attempts to fix the problem by providing even bigger tax breaks to homesteaders (read that voters) are doing us no good at all.
